I had reservations to begin with (mainly due to the information overload aspect) but it's a wonderful way of keeping in touch, finding out about classroom practices, and sharing our experiences. The spontaneous micro-coversations never cease to amaze. I'd strongly recommend using twitter via an aggregator e.g Tweetdeck or getting the Firefox add-on http://twitterfox.net/ to help with info management and make updating or viewing followers' tweets easier.
